A New Chapter in the Rugby School Group

Rugby School Nigeria will be the Rugby School Group’s third international sister school.

Located at the heart of the world-class development of Eko Atlantic in Lagos, Rugby School Nigeria will be a day and boarding school for students aged 11 to 18.

Opened in September 2025

In September 2025, the school welcomed its first cohort of students into both Year 7 (age 11+) and Sixth Form (Year 12). This exciting development reflects the outstanding progress of the school’s construction and project teams, whose dedication has ensured the campus is ready to receive pupils at both entry points.

Alongside core academic subjects, students will engage with the arts, languages, and personal development, all within an environment that champions curiosity, confidence, and character.

Happy International Day of Education! 🎊🎉🎊🎉

Today, we join the global community in marking the International Day of Education, proclaimed by the United Nations to recognise education as a fundamental human right, a public good, and a shared responsibility—essential to peace and sustainable development.

At Rugby School Nigeria, this belief is lived daily. Within our unique boarding houses, students from different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs will learn to live together with mutual respect, developing tolerance, empathy, and understanding—qualities that lie at the heart of peaceful societies.

For us at Rugby School Nigeria, our boarding houses will be more than places to live; they will be communities of learning. Through shared experiences in academics, sport, music, and service, students will learn what it means to collaborate across difference while striving for excellence.

By educating the whole child—intellectually, socially, and morally—we prepare our students not only for academic success, but for responsible global citizenship.

On this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to an education that builds character, fosters unity, and equips young people to contribute meaningfully to a more peaceful and prosperous world.

Curiosity in action in our science lab.

Recently, our Sixth-form students carried out a hands-on science experiment exploring materials and chemicals. More than just a practical task, it was an opportunity to ask questions, test ideas, and think critically about what they observed.

At Rugby School Nigeria, we believe learning is most powerful when children are encouraged to enquire, explore, and reflect. Through experiences like this, students develop key attributes from the Rugby Learner Profile — curiosity, resilience, teamwork, integrity, and ambition.

This is how we prepare young people not just to pass exams, but to understand the world and engage with it thoughtfully.

At Rugby School Nigeria, enquiry is not an add-on. It is at the heart of how we learn.
